Tell us about your studies and certifications

I chose to study and work with computers mainly because when I was at primary school my father bought me a Commodore VIC-20. I became fascinated with that magical box and ever since I have been interested in computers and software engineering. After High School, I did a one-year school in Geneva to become a programmer-analyst and to start working immediately.

During my work, I received some certifications, and at that time I made one of the first MSCD versions.

As the time passed, I felt that I was missing some academic studies so in 2008 I started a distance learning bachelor at University Besancon while working. Then, to add to my professional studies profile, I joined a Master Degree in Software Engineering at Oxford University.

What is your professional Background?

I have always worked in Geneva, and mainly in the banking and financial sector. I worked for big international banks and also leading private banks based in Switzerland.

Why did you choose to work for Sogeti?

I have mostly worked as a consultant or freelance, and I am joining Sogeti because it is part of CapGemini group, which is one of the biggest consulting companies in the world with great expertise in the Testing field.

On what kind of project do you usually work on?

Last few years I worked in the Quality Assurance as a tester, and having a developer background I felt that Testing Automation was an interesting specialty to have, with many opportunities, as companies realize more and more that test automation helps them to release software more often.

Can you describe the most interesting project you’ve done recently?

For me, the most interesting part is automation in general, and testing in particular. You can automate all the painful tasks and allow engineers to focus on the quality. As such, creation of automated test and also the continuous testing, which needs also automation of the delivery pipeline is the most interesting aspect of a project.

Which challenges do you meet in your work?

The most challenging is, perhaps, the fact that you have to adapt very quickly when you start working in a new company as a consultant, because you need to understand the business domain of the applications or projects in which you participate that usually have already started and even have several years of history, thus a consultant needs to deal with quite a big amount of information in a few days.

In your opinion, what trends will revolutionize company’s way of work?

In my opinion, micro-services are going to be the next thing that will revolutionize the companies way of work, as they bring greater modularity, loose coupling, reduce dependency between teams, services, departments.

They will allow companies to break down their functional aspects and will bring IT at the center of their strategies.
